DRV Gallery Celebrates Five Years of Artistic Excellence
Since its debut on the Tampa region’s vibrant art scene in October of 2022, DRV Gallery has become a destination for art and music lovers from throughout the state. Nestled in the art loving community of Gulfport, the gallery’s monthly art openings, live music events, and artist-led workshops have captured the imagination of discerning art collectors, music lovers, art-appreciating community members, and those seeking to add to their creative repertoire.
On Friday, October 2nd from 5:30–8:30 p.m., DRV Gallery will celebrate its 5-year anniversary with Five, an exciting new exhibition showcasing works by acclaimed regional artists and their interpretations of the theme “FIVE.” The public is invited to attend and will enjoy live music with Jim Gilmour & Friends, as well as complimentary refreshments.
In support of the local arts community, DRV Gallery will donate 5% of sales made during the event to the Enroy Foundation, Inc. This non-profit aims to promote opportunities for visual and performing artists, enhance the integration of the arts into the community, and raise awareness that artists should be fairly compensated for their work.
Additionally, a People’s Choice Award will be presented to one artist participating in the “FIVE” exhibition. The winner will receive a $50 DRV Gallery gift card, which can be used for classes, special events, and artwork.
The season will maintain its reputation as a hub of creative activity, with a group exhibition held on each First Friday and a Solo Artist Exhibition on Third Saturdays, along with live music. Beginning on October 9th, DRV Gallery will be open on Fridays and Saturdays from 11 AM–4 PM, offering various activities each week, including artist demonstrations, talks, and community art projects.
On October 17th, award-winning watercolorist Laurie Edwards will unveil new paintings in the gallery’s first solo exhibit of the season. Edwards will also teach a course on watercolor paintings on select Mondays throughout the season. Beginning on October 24th and continuing the fourth Saturday of each month, the gallery will host a series of events for poets and songwriters from 1–3:30 p.m. There will also be select evening concerts on those days throughout the season.
“My goal is to become the most creative version of myself that I can, and to foster the gallery’s growth to help others do the same,” says gallery owner Deserie Valloreo. “With practice and discipline, I explore and express myself through my painting and my musical performances, and I am excited to blend these passions with our outstanding visual and performing artists to create a truly memorable experience for guests to the gallery.”
