From April 3 through May 1, St. Petersburg’s Bayboro Brewing will transform into a gallery of feline-inspired artworks with “Caterwalls”, a cat-themed fine art exhibition showcasing original pieces from some of the biggest names in Tampa Bay’s creative community.
Just as caterwauling is cats making themselves impossible to ignore, “Caterwalls” is helping raise funds and awareness for Friends of Strays’ MEOW Now! Trap-Neuter-Vaccinate-Return (TNVR) program. Forty percent of all exhibition art sales will directly support the program.

“Caterwalls” challenges participating artists to elevate the cat from internet meme to serious artistic subject, while maintaining complete creative freedom in style and medium. The result is a diverse collection of two-dimensional 14”x14” wood-panel wall hanging works that range from representational to abstract, united by their feline focus and community purpose. Participating artists include BASK, Chad Mize, Miss Crit and others.
“This exhibition is a celebration of my favorite creature on earth!” said Miss Crit, whose brand identity is a cyclops kitty. “More importantly, Caterwalls provides an opportunity for artists to give back, with 40% of all art sales supporting Friends of Strays. Many of my friends and family have adopted from Friends of Strays and benefited from the resources they offer. I am honored to be a part of this show.”

The artist reception at Bayboro Brewing on Sunday, April 12 (1-4 PM) will offer art collectors and feline enthusiasts the opportunity to acquire original work while supporting Friends of Strays. Following the reception (4-8 PM), DJs for Paws will host the “Laser Chase” early-bird dance party, extending the celebration off the wall and onto the dance floor to party with purpose, while still getting cat lovers home at a reasonable hour! Feline-themed attire is welcomed and encouraged.
